1.
Big truck with Texas plates two feet behind me on the highway. I keep speeding up, but I can't get away. I had fun in the fort I built, but it was made out of blankets and pillows. It collapsed beneath the slightest pressure no matter how many times I rebuilt it. There's a thousand empty dark corners for every one with a monster in it, but that doesn't mean that I won't try to stay away from every one of them. I could never swim so good, but I can float like a fucking Olympian. It's just hard to float with rocks piling up in my stomach. For every new basement that I find myself locked up in I'll appreciate a change of scenery, but none of them could ever feel like home quite like the first one where that big green couch and that sliding window made me feel so small in front of the TV. Set me free.
2.
Hey hateful heat. Hey hasty haze. Where have you been? I wish you could stay, but I'm glad you came. I don't know if I'm anybody, but just because I'm not talking that don't mean you can interrupt me. I swear this song's about something. Respond to me responsibly. I've loved some people and I tried to save them, but now it's time for my truth and reconciliation.
3.
You will always mean something. You can watch me fall into your cotton candy dandelion mouth. You are a Halloween daydream. You could be my Thanksgiving nightmare. You and me are a bored board game that somebody knocked off a table. If you were here with me we could play the newlywed game. Maybe then these mice would crawl out of my ears. We could play the newlywed game.

Inside Out 01:45
It was a fallen star already wished on. It was a mushy gushy orange thing. It was the shelf I got knocked off of. Now I'm rolling around on the floor screaming "Just watch this!" I put it on inside out. I took it off inside out. (Living and dying and living and dying and living and dying, it means anything) I put it off, it's inside out. I take it on, it's inside out. Oh what a place to be where life and death are the little things. It means anything.
5.
Foreign beings at the corners of our eyes again. We kind of had plans for Friday night, but don't worry about it. It turns out that shooting star I wished on, well it was just a spaceship all along. We wander haunted streets all night, our stomachs filling up with spider bites, and I don't know why you never say goodbye. Well, goodnight. It was a gap in a timeline, confusion perfected. All American chaos. It was a fast car on the highway with the windows down, never bothering to so much as glance at the speedometer. It was a dark room. It was a wall of the sound. It was the last embers still burning, cigarettes in the parking lot. It was that perfect night, sitting on a park bench drink in hand feeling the wind on my face from across the lake and now it's not.
